 Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level (SSC - CGL)

SSC CGL is one of the most sought exams conducted by Staff Selection Commission. It conducts both CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam) and CGL (Combined Graduate Level). SSC CGL Exam Pattern consists of three phases- Preliminary Test, Mains, and Computer Proficiency Test/Skill Test. The other classification of jobs under the SSC CGL examination is based on the job profile. Under this classification, there are two types of jobs-

i) Desk Job  ii) Field Job

Note: The Tier-I result of SSC VGL 2021 will be released online on 11th December 2021. Tier-II is scheduled to be conducted on 28th and 29th January 2023 and Tier-III is expected to be conducted on ^th Feb 2023. The notification for SSC CGL Exam 2022 is expected to be released by December 2022 and the process of filling application form is expected to start from January 2023.

Essential Qualifications for various posts

SSC CGL recruitment process includes several essential qualifications that a candidate must possess. For different posts, a different set of qualifications are needed.

Statistical Investigator Grade-ll

  • Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Compiler

  • Bachelor's Degree from any recognized University with Economics, or
  • Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.

All other posts

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

 SSC- CGL Recruitment Process

As said, SSC CGL Exam Pattern includes three phases and a candidate needs to successfully pass all the tiers to get the final selection. Before you strategize your study plans, you must be well aware of the SSC CGL Exam Pattern.

Tier-I and Tier-II: Computer-Based Tests

For Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Paper- I, Paper-II and Paper- III are considered for selection.

Assistant Audit Officer Group- B: Paper- I, Paper-II and Paper- IV are considered for selection.

For Other Posts: Only paper-I and Paper-II are considered for selection.

Tier-III: Instead of INTERVIEW, Tier-III (of 100 marks) has been inducted which will require candidates to write Essay/Precis/Letter /Application in either English or Hindi.

There will be no sectional cut-offs but a candidate will have to qualify all the three phases i.e. Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III.

SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier 1 Exam
SSC CGL 2023Tier 1 exam comprises 100 questions in total with a maximum mark of 200. The duration of SSC CGL Tier 1 is of 60 minutes. SSC CGL Tier I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and maximum marks of 50.
